Lab Notes

A personal record of thoughts, project details, progress tracking, research, and other details of time dedicated to pursuing invention and entrepreneurship.

Over the years and across many projects. I’ve learned the value of having a record of thoughts, ideas, research and notes to look back on. I’ve accumulated a large collection of journals, invention diaries, and project notes in bins and boxes and have referred back to them on multiple occasions.

Since the beginning of this most recent launch into independent, self funded invention, this concept has taken on a new level of import. So, I kicked my note taking into high gear, including printing and binding my notes into actual books.

Who are the notes for?

Primarily, me. My focus is on things that will jog my memory of a project, library, API, idea, technique, or website I’d like to remember. While I’ve considered the idea of setting up Patreon-based access with some tier of support providing access to live notes or a printed and bound copy, I haven’t yet been convinced there would be enough interest in this depth of detail to provide the editing and third-party focus this kind of access would require.

2019 came it at more than 850 pages split across two volumes I call H1 and H2, and I’m on track to equal that volume for 2020.
